Over the 4th, we went to visit my sister, Ashley, in Liberty Lake Washington. It's a cute little town between Spokane, Wa and Coeur d'Alene, Id. Nate had to work, but every other member of my family drove or flew in from Hawaii, Texas, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. It was so great!!
The morning of the 4th, we went to a parade in Liberty Lake. It mostly consisted of people decorating their golf carts. Many people in this town have golf carts. Lots of the sidewalks are extra wide to accommodate people driving them around. Sometimes there are golf clubs strapped to the back. Mostly there are children strapped to the back. Lots of people drive them to church, the park, etc. I forgot to snap a pic of them driving them down the roads. So cute.
Then, we had a birthday party for the summer birthdays, which is almost all of the grandkids. My mom found this idea to make home made huge bubbles. The kids loved them!
Then, we "shook" bags of homemade ice cream. It actually turned out!
Then, we hit a piñata in the basement. Ashley has all girls (until September), so she doesn't own a bat. Never fear, Trevor found a piece of rebar at the construction site behind the house. We realized later, just how unsafe that really is.....Needless to say, it broke very fast.

It was a busy day: We also went to Spokane Falls and gazed at a totem pole (there are lots of them in the Pacific North West!)
I love my family and miss them so much. Fortunately we all have a 5 year plan to all move to Liberty Lake. We have all discussed it, and it's happening. Right guys?

Just saw your blog updates. You got some really great pictures of the trip. I will have to steal some of them. It was such a good time. I'm glad we made it happen. Now looking forward to Christmas!
