On Patriot's Day, we went to Lexington to watch the reinactment of the Revolutionary War. For the past couple hundred years, the town folk have dressed up as American Patriots or Red Coats to battle it out. A few women participate, dressed up as nurses, and help the wounded soldiers. Those dang British attacked at 6am, so guess what time the program started.... So ten of us (plus 4 kids and 3 fetuses) watched the battle and then had a yummy pancake breakfast. We got home around 8:30 and took a long nap - and missed the Boston Marathon, which we totally planned to attend.
side note: this is the first part of the battle, where the British actually succeed. You'll notice that the Americans run away like a bunch of pansies. Notice the guy die in the beginning of the video. And take note of the few patriots who casually stroll away from the British. *And it was cool how it was foggy that morning. Just for effect!
