4th of July in Huntsville

I think Huntsville is one of the prettiest places on earth. And I've lived many places and visited many more. It's so quiet and pretty with beautiful mountains and a lake. I would love to live here the rest of my life. Nate isn't so sure about such a small, quiet town. But for now, we will visit for the annual 4th of July celebration.
This year, my sisters Ashley and Stephanie and her boyfriend Trevor and my hubby Nate ran the Huntsville 5K. It was hard but I enjoyed training for it and we think we might do the 10 K next year. We'll see. We are all smiling because this was BEFORE the race.

You can't possibly celebrate our independance without a delicious trifle. Mine is the one on the left, while Nate made the one on the right.

My uncles Dave and Don
My sisters Emily and Ashley with Kate
My nephews Rowan and Maclaren
Watching the parade go by. Growing up, we always made a float and rode on it. Next year, we should have enough Sorensen great-grandkids to make one again. Such a fun childhood memory.

My uncle Richard (in the back) riding the city council float.

Is this safe for children?

That was really fun. I'm so glad I came. And NO, that was NOT safe for children. That was kind of disturbing to me.

I would like to do the 10k next year. Anyone else? We'll see if I can get myself ready for it.
